I don’t have much time to write today, but I would just REALLY like to recommend you check out this blog. I think I have mentioned it before, but it is really great! I subscribed to it in my RSS feeds and I visit the site often. My friend, Nick, (he has been on Tech Talk before) recently started a new blog with his friend Aaron. Aaron does game reviews and Nick does Tech News. This blog is located at http://nickstechblog.wordpress.com. In one month of having the blog active, he already has over 1000 hits! This site is a success! I really want you to check it out and learn about cool gadgets, new games, and other tech news.
A little while ago I took a survey. I asked “What is your favorite computer operating system?”. The results are as follows:
1st place - Windows XP
2nd place - Mac OS X Leopard
3rd place - Mac OS X Tiger
4th place - Red Hat Linux
5th place - Windows Vista
6th place - Other/Open Source
The results were pretty much like I predicted. I thought Vista would rate higher and I thought that Tiger would be in front of Leopard, but I like the results I got ![]()
Apple was recently sued for saying the new iMac has a new and improved screen. The lawsuit claims the new monitors are incapable of displaying “millions of colors”. I think my screen is great though. I love the build-in light and the crisp, clear picture. I think the Mac has a lot of great features, as all operating systems do. P.S. Sorry I haven’t been posting lately. I will try to post more often.
Sorry I didn’t post yesterday. I was very busy, but today I will review an awesome product I bought made by Contour. When I went to a film camp in the Summer, I saw they had one of these. I asked them what it did and what it was called. They called it a Shuttle and described it as a multimedia editing tool. They demonstrated it and let me play with it. I liked this so I bought one for myself. There are Shuttle Pros and Shuttle Xpresses. I got the Xpress, but at the film camp they had a Pro. I easily configured this and was using it within minutes. I won’t go through the whole set up process, but you assign the buttons on the device to keystroke commands, or other features in the targeted program. You can use this with any program. It is really a great tool. The Xpress is circular, with a inner jog wheel in the middle surrounded by an outer shuttle wheel. Then there are 5 programable buttons surrounding that. The only different from the Xpress and the Pros (there are two different kinds or Pros) is that they are different shapes and the Pros have more buttons. I highly recommend this product!
Mac OS X has now been alive for seven years! It started with Cheetah, Now it is up to Leopard. There have been many updates and improvements and I love what they have done with it! I hope Apple will keep continuing with it. What will come next? Lion? Lynx? We can only wait to find out.
Many websites have predicted what the iPhone/ iPod Touch App Store will be like. There are screen shot photos out. I think it looks pretty cool and very easy to navigate in. My only question is if you have multiple iPhones or iPod Touches and you buy some software from the App Store on one, can you transfer it to one of your other iPhones or iPod Touches? Will you use your iTunes account to pay or will you have to create an exclusive App Store account? I hope to find out the full experience when the finished store comes out.
Today is the Easter!!! There isn’t that much news except rumors that the Mac Mini may be updated soon. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Easter!
Check out my new widget called “Blog Stats”. That will display how many people have viewed my blog. I also have a new one called “Spam Comments”. This shows how many Askimet spam comments have been blocked.
