Sorry I haven’t been blogging lately. I’ve been doing a lot with school and now that it’s summer hopefully I’ll have some more blogging time! I’d just like to mention one quick thing: I’ve been releasing weekly videos onto my YouTube channel every Saturday and it’s been going great! I usually release a vlog along with the new video each week and I just wanted to let you guys know so you can check it out! Also, I just recently registered a new channel called joeyphone where I will upload behind-the-scenes clips of the weekly movies I make for my main channel. The reason it’s called joeyphone is because I’m primarily uploading to it with my phone. So, for a while now I’ve been wanting to do a video show or live webcast-type thing. I’ve tried in the past to do a webcast with my friend called MJPeople, but after three episodes we stopped for some reason. It would have really helped if we could have had more than just two people working on the webcast, but now I have another idea that only requires one person – me! I already have a YouTube channel I occasionally post videos to (guitarplayr82), but lately not much has been going on there. I would like to change that. Like what I did with my one-blog-post-a-day thing, this will be a weekly video show. With school, my band, my podcast, and many other things I am doing now, some weeks I may not release a video. Recording the video, editing it, and uploading it does take some time, but hopefully almost every weekend I will be able to release a video. If it turns out to be too hard to make a video every week, I may end up changing it to every two weeks, but for now it’s every week. These videos will not be aimed towards a certain topic or subject. They will not be tech geared, comedy oriented, or vlogy (look, I made a new word!) These videos may include tech, comedy, or vlogs in them, but I will just be doing a video on what ever I want to do a video on. What ever I find interesting to do a video on that week, I will record it and post it. I might not always be doing the videos in my studio, my home, or a dedicated place for recording. Sometimes I may take the camera to a remote location – a friend’s house, another studio, a place where I can show something cool off for my viewers, or anywhere I choose. Since this is not a real “show”, just a bunch of videos that will, for the most part, not have anything to do with each other, I will continue to post these on the guitarplayr82 account on YouTube. These may also be featured on my guitarplayr82/jfl888 Blip.tv page. A site will not be made for these videos. I will not make a separate Twitter or anything. It will all still be under guitarplayr82. The first video I plan to do a type of introduction, just stating basically everything I said in this blog post. From then on I hope to make videos every week and have fun with it! I have an announcement: I am starting a tech news webcast called Tech on Time! Whenever there is new tech news, I will come stream it live on the Tech on Time Mogulus channel, so people can watch it live, and I will record it on Mogulus, so if you miss the live broadcast (you have a good chance of missing it because you never know when I am going to stream. After all, it is called Tech on Time, so when the news comes out, I report it on time) you will be able to go back to the show player (even if I am not streaming) and I will have the most recent recording looping so you can watch it. These tech news webcasts aren’t going to be like 1/2-1 hour shows overviewing the tech news of the week, because if something comes out on Monday, and I report it on Friday, that wouldn’t be very timely. These are going to be 5-10 minute shows, talking about one or two stories that were just reported. Also, since it is a webcast, why not use video? When I record or stream a new story, I will turn on my cameras, therefore you will be able to see me I will be using CamTwist and Camtwist Studio (a feature inside of CamTwist) for the video. I will occasionally be showing a video of a live stream of my desktop in the news report, a short movie, a slideshow or some photos, or something else cool that CamTwist can help me with. The use of CamTwist Studio can really spice up the broadcast with it’s nice transitions and TV broadcast station-like interface. “Preview 1… Okay, pull 1″ Also, Mogulus has some really nice tools that can work with CamTwist to provide a great final presentation. For audio, I will be using my podcasting setup with the assistance of WireTap Anywhere. I currently have an info intro video looping on the stream, so you can go watch it for more info. I plan to do the first broadcast very soon, so keep checking back at the sire frequently. Also, once I start making these webcasts, check the site often as I may release a new news story any time. I will try to post on Twitter under the username “guitarplayr82″ when I release a new story. Also, if you see something big on a tech blog or technology site, you may want to check my stream because I may have a full report on it up already. If I release two or more stories a day, I will make sure to loop both of those on the show page so you won’t miss any of them. The other day, I went to Best Buy and bought a 2nd Generation 8GB iPod Touch! I really love it and all the features and everything they managed to pack into such a small, thin device is incredible. It is even thinner than the last model they made. I held it up to my insanely thin 3rd Generation 4GB iPod Nano (see my iPod Nano post) and the Touch is merely milimeters thicker than the Nano. All the apps constantly coming out of the App store make it even nicer, and the sync capabilities, over WiFi and just the different items you can sync through a wired connection to a computer really amazed me. The touch screen and accelerometer are awesome too! A while ago, John Grinde told me that the future of gaming could very well be the iPhone and iPod Touch. I really didn’t understand how that could happen because at that time, only John had an iPod Touch, but now that I have one I can see why he said that. I have tons of games, both paid and free for my iPod and I have to say, the way the developers used the capabilities and features of the iPod to enhance gaming just blows my mind. I hope to soon post some screenshots of the apps I got. If you are thinking about getting a new iPod, I highly recommend the iPod Touch!

Last year I went to a 2 week film camp, and I did it again this year. Just like last year, we made 3 movies. You Can see them at the Film Camp page here. I just wanted to let all of my blog readers/subscribers know that I have new film camp content.

I have one last WordPress desktop posting app for you. This one is called Poster and I’m posting this from it now. Poster has a simple interface and once you get it set up it is amazingly easy to make a new post. This is another free program, as like the others I talked about in the last two posts and is available for Mac and Windows. I hope you like the programs/add-ons I have talked about today. In the future I hope to post something talking about which desktop publisher I like best.

After installing Flock (see last post), I found another desktop blogging tool. This is an add-on for Firefox, but it also works with Flock. I tested it on Safari but it wouldn’t install. What ScribeFire does is if you push F8 when you are inside Firefox or Flock, it will launch a window inside the browser. After you get your blog set up, you can type text into the F8 window and click post. This will post to the selected blog. I haven’t tested it out yet, but it looks like a nice interface.

I just downloaded a program called Flock. Flock is a web browser and a blog editor. It supports Windows, Mac, and Linux. I can post directly to my blog with Flock, as I am doing now. This is a short post because I just wanted to see how Flock works. If you think it works well, please leave a comment.

I used to think that the iPod battery meter only displayed a green bar to show how much power I have left and a red bar when I am running low, but the other day when I was playing an iPod Game, the battery started to run low. I exited out of the game and began listening to music. When the song I was listening to ended, I lit up the screen to see what song was next. I noticed the battery meter and saw it wasn’t red or green. It was orange, so I guess the battery meter turns green, orange, and then red. That’s a pretty nice feature.
